About ATJ

After The Jump

After the Jump is the joint effort of 20 New York City music bloggers whose sites attract over one million viewers a week. Founded last year in support of underfunded city school music programs, After the Jump has planned and staged concerts in association with the massive South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas and the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City as well as our own all day and night festival last summer in Brooklyn.

In the less than one year After the Jump has been in existence, it has hosted over 50,000 attendees. After the Jump events have gained widespread media coverage, earning positive notices in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Village Voice, The Guardian (UK), New York Magazine, among many others.

This summer, on June 21st, we will be partnering with Make Music New York to throw our second annual festival taking over the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Galapagos Art Space, and the North 6th Street itself with three stages and over 20 bands. 2,000 people are expected to attend with a demographic of affluent, mainly single or co -inhabiting, 21-35 year olds with an average income of $50,000 per year who are considered to not only be New York City's trend-setters, but the nation's.

The band that wins the After the Jump Stereofame contest will share the main stage with The Swimmers, Senryu, Wakey, Wakey, Bell, The Bloodsugars, papercranes, The Antlers, The Forms and the headlining band that will be announced on June 13th.
